After executing and loading ANCESTROLL.EXE a GAME CLIENT has popped up on your screen. Yet it seems to do nothing except to display some details about you.
Curiously enough despite reading all the instructions, you aren’t quite sure what to do next. Or maybe you don’t care. Meanwhile with or without your knowledge or consent, it seems that suddenly your Trollian has added a bunch of foreign trolltags, namely those of the other players.
Either way, you end up sleeping in your recuperacoon, only to wake up moments later.
But you aren’t in your hive. Or in Alternia for that matter.
Did you even wake up in the first place?
Looking around, the place stirs a sense of familiarity within you. Unconsciously you are no stranger to these lands, as if it is a land of your own construction. You decide to explore the surrounding area as much as you would care to do.
Then you stumble across a single portal. It looks pretty simple actually, just a glowing white ring. Whoever made this must have been short on time or effort. Or both.
You end up entering the portal one way or another.
===> Enter the portal
The portal had taken you somewhere green, very green. It is also sunny, blindingly so, yet apparently it seems to be of no harm. There are trees left, right and center, practically everywhere and in such abundance you are grateful, curious or perhaps apathetic to the fact that you have fortunately landed in a small clearing.
You can see a figure approaching. It is another troll, or two, or three. Maybe more? You aren’t quite sure.
What will you do?
Selano quickly read through the instructions with feigned interest as his trollian was suddenly filled to the brim with trolltags. Looking through the names his lips curled into a wry smile. Perhaps this playing this game would end up paying off much more then he first calculated. Quickly he tried to uncover what was the next step to the game clicking, reading and re-reading but to no avail. Selano’s face turned cross as he stared at his screen in thought…
“Perhaps it is some sort of timed system…” he pondered. His lusus began hovering over his head and pecking at his horns for a moment before taking off again. It was his way of checking up on Selano in a way. Snapping out of his musing Selano looked up at his lusus and knew his father had a point. It had been god know’s how long since he last slept and the stress was obviously getting to him.
Slowly he slipped into the sopor letting himself drift off into slumber, but only for a moment. Somehow he awoke in the midst of a pathway of foliage, blood pounding in his ears. The sound was odd yet somehow alluring to him. Following the path further he found himself open to a multitude of pathways to take, some leading no where, some leading back to another pathway, but there was one path that lead to a cross roads. In the center there stood a glowing white portal. Bound by his sense of curiosity Selano steps through only to find a much plainer landscape in his view.
“A clearing of all things, how… quaint” he remarked. Frankly he would have much rather preferred to stay in the previous hedged labyrinth but there was no helping it. Idly he walked around the clearing observing the details before noticing a a foreign shadow near him. Quickly he hid behind the nearest tree and laid in wait until he had a better view of the unknown figure.
